Breakout Coin (ticker: BRK) is the Breakout Chain currency designated for payments, issuances of colored coins, pegged currencies, and fuelling the smart-contract system.
Breakout Coin and Breakout Stake were distributed according to the following record:
At the genesis of the chain, 19.5 M BRK and 12.5 M BRX were created. While BRK is subject to about a 5% per-year interest rate by staking BRX, the BRX supply is fixed — no new BRX is ever created after genesis.
The 7.0 M Breakout Coin marketing fund was available for loans to
third-party businesses at 0.5% interest, with repayment starting after one
year. Loan disbursements were spread over several years, deferred using
CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY. Loans — including interest and repayment —
were denominated in BRK.
Coins from the marketing fund that were not under loan or in the marketing escrow were held in multi-signature escrow until they were included in a loan. Loans carried usage conditions meant to encourage adoption of BRK and growth of the BRK economy. The favorable repayment plans were meant to give startups and businesses that supported Breakout Coin opportunity for success.
A breakdown of the sale by purchaser’s Breakout Chain address is preserved on the chain balances record.
